Forty-Seventh Sitting of the Committee on Health and the Family
At the sitting held on 19 May, the members of the Committee on Health and the Family reviewed and accepted the Health Council of Serbia 2010 Regular Annual Activity Report of 20 April 2011.
By a majority of votes, the Committee members adopted the following conclusions on the reviewed Information on the activities of the Ministry of Health in 2010:
- The Committee reviewed and accepted the Information on the activities of the Ministry of Health in 2010,
- The Committee deems that, despite the deteriorating socio-economic situation and economic crisis, the Ministry managed to ensure stability and sustainability of the health care system, as well as ensure the continuation of the planned health care system reform in 2010,
- The Committee accepts the priorities set by the Ministry of Health for 2011.
- The Committee reviewed and accepted the Information on the activities of the Ministry of Health for the period January-March 2011,
- The Committee noted the replacement of the competent minister and the fact that to a degree, it impeded the work of the Ministry of Health in the abovementioned period,
- It pointed out the need to add a report on international activity of the representatives of the Ministry of Health and a more detailed report on the realisation of projects to some parts of the Information in the upcoming period.
- The National Assembly accepts the Health Council of Serbia 2010 Regular Annual Activity Report,
- The National Assembly notes the difficulties in the functioning of the Health Council stemming from the lack of material requirements for work thus the National Assembly demands that the competent authorities secure all the requirements necessary for the unimpeded work and functioning of this body as soon as possible,
- In addition the issues it considered in 2010, in the upcoming period the Health Council should focus more on performing its duties from article 154 of the Health Care Law, particularly to consider and propose measures to resolve the problems in the areas of: expert supervision of the work of health care institutions; prevention, early detection and suppression of chronic non-infectious diseases; increased efficiency, availability and rationalisation of expenses on all levels of health care provision.
