Forty-Second Sitting of the Committee on Defense and Security
At the sitting held on 20 July, the Committee on Defense and Security considered the Bills on the agenda for the Eighth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2011
At the sitting held on 20 July, the Committee on Defense and Security considered the Bills on the agenda for the Eighth Extraordinary Session of the National Assemblyin 2011: the Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Government of the Republic of Cyprus in the Field of Defense, Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia, represented by the Ministry of Defense, and Government of the State of Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Defense, on mutual cooperation in the field of defense and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on readmission of persons residing illegally, with the Protocol between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania on readmission of persons residing illegally, submitted by the Government. The first two defense Bills were presented to the Committee members by Colonel Predrag Kraljevic from the Ministry of Defense who said that they regulate the bilateral cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and Government of the Republic of Cyprus i.e. the Government of the State of Kuwait.
The third Bill was explained by Jasmina Stanojevic, representative of the Ministry of Interior. She stated that its goal is to reduce illegal migration and improve the bilateral police cooperation between Serbia and Albania.
The Committee members adopted the Bills and appointed Committee Chairman Dusan Bajatovic rapporteur to the National Assembly session.
In the continuation, at the proposal of Committee member Bajram Omeragic, the Committee on Defense and Security adopted the following Conclusion: at the sitting held on 20 July 2011 the Committee on Defense and Security condemned the attack on MP Esad Dzudzevic and demands that the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia investigate all the relevant facts relating to the incident and inform the Committee on Defense and Security and the public on it.
The sitting was chaired by Dusan Bajatovic, Committee Chairman.
