Fifth Sitting of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region

At the sitting held on 29 November, the members of the Committee on the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region debated the Information on the impact of the decision of the Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia to acquit the Croatian generals of the crimes against the Serbian people in Krajina on the Serbian people in the Republic of Croatia.


Following the debate, the Committee unanimously adopted the following Conclusions.

At the sitting, the Committee members also considered and accepted the Information on memos received from the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region – calendar of events in the diaspora, list of associations registered in accordance with the Rulebook on the content and manner of recordkeeping of organisations in the diaspora and record of organisations of Serbs in the region and the list of delegates of the Assembly of the Diaspora with contacts.

As regards the Progressive Club’s proposal to present the 2012 Report on the political rights of the Serbian people in the region at the Serbian Assembly, the Committee proposed that the National Assembly should host a public hearing in December on the political rights of the Serbian people in the region.

The Committee members considered and accepted the reports on the Committee’s delegations’ visits to Romania and the Czech Republic and the meeting with the delegation of the Alliance of Serbian Societies of Slovenia.

The sitting was chaired by Aleksandar Cotric, Committee Chairman.
