At the sitting on 22 April, the members of the Industry Committee discussed the Information on the state of the metal industry.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Milorad Buha, and attended by the representatives of the relevant unions of metal workers of Serbia, the Union of Employers and the Assistant Minister of Economy and Regional Development Misela Nikolic and associates.

In the lengthy discussion, the union representatives stressed that the average drop in industrial production in March 2009 amounted to 32.8%, and that the metal industry crisis has manifested in two directions, through the fall in product demand and slow demand collection.
