Eighth Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

At the sitting held on 18 March 2025, the Security Services Control Committee considered the Information on the facts and circumstances related to the protest held on 15 March 2025 in Belgrade.

The sitting began with a minute of silence for those killed in the fire in Kocani, North Macedonia.

The facts and circumstances related to the protest held on 15 March 2025 in Belgrade were presented to the Committee members by the Director of the Security Information Agency Dr Vladimir Orlic. He said that the attempt to carry out a colour revolution in Serbia had failed and expressed satisfaction that there was no escalation of violence, but at the same time expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the protest ended with more than 50 injured citizens and the destruction of citizens' personal property. We preserved stability, peace and ensured security, which is the most important thing, said Orlic.

Brigadier General Zarko Nesic of the Military Security Agency said that no sonic cannon was used during the protest on 15 March 2025, stressing that the Serbian Army does not possess such a device, nor a device with similar characteristics.

The sitting continued with a discussion during which the Committee members requested additional information about the incident that occurred during last night's student blockade of the Novi Sad City Assembly. They asked whether the influence of foreign security services was detected during the protests and whether there has been a larger number of entries of foreign nationals into our country. They also inquired about the level of cybersecurity in Serbia.

Finally, the Committee adopted the following conclusions regarding the Information on the facts and circumstances related to the protest held on 15 March 2025 in Belgrade.
