Eighteenth Sitting of the Agriculture Committee
At the sitting held on 17 November, the members of the Agriculture Committee debated the joint sitting with the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, to be held on 3 and 4 December in Belgrade.

The Committee went on to endorse the request of the Belgrade Institute of Agricultural Economics that the international gathering on the Institute’s 60th anniversary be held at the National Assembly building.
The Committee members considered the official letter of the European Integration Department of the National Assembly regarding a study visit of the Serbian deputies and National Assembly civil servants to the Hungarian Parliament and discussed the conversation topics for their meetings with the competent committees. It was decided that one of the topics for the meeting with the Hungarian Parliament’s Agriculture Committee be the impact of transition on small agricultural homesteads in Hungary.
The Committee endorsed the proposal of the Serbian Society of Agrarian Economists that one Committee sitting be held at the Faculty of Agriculture and that the Ministry of Agriculture prepare an analysis of the effects of the agrarian and rural policy measures for the sitting.
The Committee members also considered the request of the civic association “Novoseljanski paori” from Banatsko Novo Selo proposing that 6% of the next year’s budget be allocated for the agrarian budget. It was concluded that the Committee should join the proposal and forward an official letter to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Prime Minister.
Regarding the official letter of the Serbian Cultural-Educational Society requesting financial aid for the 35th annual competition of Serbian villages, the Committee adopted the conclusion that the official letter be forwarded to the Ministries of Culture and Agriculture, as well as RTS Public Service.
