Dubravka Kralj Wishes Newly-Appointed Serbian Ambassador to Tunisia Successful Mandate

The Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Tunisia Dubravka Kralj met today in the National Assembly with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Tunisia H.E. Dijana Ivancic, wishing her a successful mandate.

Kralj said that this is her second time at the head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Tunisia, noting that the relations between Serbia and Tunisia can be deepened at all levels and expressing her satisfaction that Serbia is appointing an ambassador to Tunisia. She added that Serbia sees Tunisia as a friendly country which faithfully supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia in these challenging times. The PFG Head stressed that the recently signed Agreement on Social Security, which regulates all areas of social security for the citizens of the two countries, represents a step towards closer cooperation between Serbia and Tunisia, adding that there is room to deepen relations in the fields of economy, tourism, culture and investments.

Ivancic stated that there is a huge potential and room to strengthen cooperation with Tunisia, saying that the two countries have been cultivating diplomatic relations since 1957. She added that Tunisia was offered an Agreement on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports and that agreements concerning reduction of customs rates, which would boost economic cooperation, are also in the works.

The officials also exchanged opinions on the potential for investment projects which would be of interest to both countries, as well as the organisation of meetings between the parliamentarians of Serbia and Tunisia, which have been in decline in recent years due to the pandemic and the parliamentary elections in both countries.
