Dr Orlic Meets with French and Austrian MPs
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic, met today with the member of the National Assembly of the Republic of France Liliana Tanguy and the member of the National Council of the Parliament of the Republic of Austria Reinhold Lopatka.
In the course of the meeting, the officials prised the dynamic exchange of visits among the three national parliaments at all levels, expressing willingness to continue with it in the future, along with joint work on institutional strengthening of professional and technical cooperation.
The National Assembly Speaker thanked France and Austria for the support they provide to Serbia's European path, pointing to the significant progress achieved by the country in numerous areas. Dr Orlic pointed out that in terms of the rule of law, Serbia is rated better than ever before and is making progress on all counts, expecting this would be formally valorised through the opening of a new cluster, although it is clear that the difficult situation in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina has a special influence on it, not by our fault. He informed the MPs in detail about the dangerous and irresponsible moves of Albin Kurti, among them the current attempt to cause a humanitarian disaster by leaving the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija without food and medicine. "Kurti is persistently working on his agenda of physical elimination of the Serbian people from Kosovo-Metohija, which we cannot and will not allow," said Dr Orlic, adding that such wholly un-European behaviour demands a clear condemnation by all and that Serbia would, by pursuing its state policy, continue to preserve peace and stability, achieve successes in the economy, infrastructure and to that end cooperate with its partners in the EU and the world.
In the course of the meeting, the MPs drew attention to the importance of furthering connections among the national parliaments, opining that their joint activities and initiatives can contribute to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, as well as to an even more pronounced progress of our country on its European path.
