Discussion on infringement of employee rights as form of social violence
The Foreign Affairs Committee, in co-operation with the Gender Task Force of the Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe, organised a meeting at Assembly House to discuss infringement of employee rights as a form of social violence.
The Foreign Affairs Committee, in co-operation with the Gender Task Force of the Stability Pact for South-Eastern Europe, organised a meeting at Assembly House to discuss infringement of employee rights as a form of social violence. The meeting was chaired by Gordana Comic, chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
In addition to organiser representatives, the discussion was taken part in by members of the European Integrations Committee, the Gender Equality Committee, the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues, the Committee on Health and the Family, and officials of the Association of Free and Independent Trade Unions, the Secretariat of Labour, Employment and Gender Equality of the Executive Council of the Vojvodina Assembly, and the OSCE Mission to Belgrade.
The meeting focused on selective application of laws, avoidance of labour legislation, discrimination at work, and the effect of one’s working environment on health. Special attention was paid to labour-related discrimination of women, the disabled, and the elderly in Serbia’s society.
