Deputy Speaker Popovic and Ambassador Bakradze Discuss Promoting Economic Cooperation Between Serbia and Georgia
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr Nenad Popovic met today, in Belgrade, with Georgian Ambassador to Serbia H.E. David Bakradze.
Deputy Speaker Popovic highlighted the vast potential for agricultural and touristic cooperation between Serbia and Georgia which is yet to be tapped. He emphasised the advantages offered by the local self-governments in Vojvodina and central Serbia to such cooperation. Popovic said that Serbia is also interested in boosting infrastructural cooperation, opining that Serbian construction companies are very interested in the Georgian market.
Ambassador Bakradze said that Georgia is among the countries with an ambient conducive to attracting foreign investments. He stressed that investors into Georgia pay only six investment fees making it the fourth least bureaucratically complex country for foreign investment. He invited Serbian investors to take advantage of the circumstances, adding that one of Serbia’s leading IT companies would soon enter the Georgian market.
Ambassador Bakradze reaffirmed that his country would continue to offer Serbia its principled support as regards its territorial integrity and sovereignty in Kosovo-Metohija.
