Brnabic Signs Memorandum of Understanding Between National Assembly and Westminster Foundation for Democracy
The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic signed today a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) with the foundation's CEO Anthony Smith.
This document tallows for the future cooperation through the programme “Supporting the resources and capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for the improvement of efficient and effective parliamentary work”, 11 April 2024 – 31 March 2028, financed by the WFD.
The National Assembly Speaker thanked the Foundation for the cooperation, stressing that it is an honour for Serbia to have the opportunity to learn from the UK Parliament and that the experience can contribute to the culture of dialogue in our parliament and strengthening of parliamentary democracy which is one of its priorities.
MR Smith was also most satisfied by the signing of the document and the opportunity for interaction between the two parliaments and development of democratic values. He said that the organisation has been enjoying cooperation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for a full decade now.
The signing and the meeting in the Nation al Assembly was also attended by UK Ambassador Edward Ferguson who stressed that this is yet another form of cooperation between the two parliaments.
