SAI Council President Radoslav Sretenovic presented the audit findings to the Committee members, in line with the 2013 Audit Programme. He pointed out that this year’s audits covered public spending and costs amounting to 2,311 billion RSD. Two types of audit were conducted – financial report audits and regularity audits, said the SAI Council President. Sretenovic also said that the audit covered the subjects’ actions in line with the provisions of the Budget System Law, as well as regularity and application of the Law on Public Procurement.
In the course of the discussion the Committee members shared their concerns over the many irregularities the SAI found in its audits. The Committee members were particularly interested in the situation in the public sector and the functioning of internal control and internal audit. The Committee members also asked about the SAI’s priorities for next year.
