15th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 30 June 2025, the Culture and Information Committee considered the Opinion of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications on the application of the provisions of the Law on Electronic Media in the procedure for proposing candidates for members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media.

Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric informed the members that she had sent a request to the relevant Ministry for an opinion on the implementation of the provisions of the Law on Electronic Media. In this request, the Chairperson sought an interpretation of the provisions of the law, articles 15 and 19, which relate to incompatibility with membership in the REM Council, i.e. the termination of the mandate of REM Council members by dismissal. Following a discussion, the Committee took the position that it agreed with the submitted opinion of the relevant Ministry.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Nevena Djuric and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Branimir Jovanovic, Prof. Dr Marko Atlagic, Mgr Akos Ujhelyi, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, MA Jadranka Jovanovic, Dr Jovan Janjic, Natasa Jovanovic, Nebojsa Bakarec, Lepomir Ivkovic and MA Ljubica Vranes.
