The representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Finance presented the Bill to the Committee members saying that it should be passed for the sake of rapprochement of several strategies passed in the previous period concerning the increase of housing capacities in prisons and raising the security and safety levels of humane conditions, in line with European standards. The Bill concerns the prison in Pancevo i.e. the construction of a new one since the existing one is in the centre of the city, the existing building dates back to the 19^th century and there is a need to build a new one. The 18 million EUR loan has a 20-year payback period and 5-year grace period. It covers just part of the total value of the project and the second part of the funds for the construction of a new prison in Pancevo would be secured from the Republic budget, budget of the city of Pancevo and donations. According to announcement, a second loan for the prison in Kragujevac is also planned.

At the end of the discussion the Committee members unanimously accepted the Bill.

The Committee then unanimously decided to set up a Working Group for the conduction of proceedings for the election of President and two members of the Republic Commission for Protection of Rights in Public Procurement Procedures, comprising Veroljub Arsic as Chair and Ivan Jovanovic, Dejan Radenkovic, Goran Kovacevic and Milorad Mijatovic as members.
