33rd Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

At its 33rd sitting, held on 16 June 2015, the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications discussed the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Activity Report for the period 1 January – 31 March 2015.

The Report was presented by representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.

State Secretary Tatjana Matic informed the Committee members about the legislative, normative and project activity in the field of telecommunications. The most important project in the previous period was the switchover from analogue to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting, said Tatjana Matic. She said that a Governmental Directive has established how to assist underprivileged consumers – they have the right to free set-top-box devices in the form of 3000 RSD vouchers. The digitalisation process was completed on 7 June even though the deadline was 15 June 2015. Tatjana Matic said that by the end of June the ministries in charge of electronic communication in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Serbia will sign an agreement on the reduction of roaming prices.

Assistant Minister Sava Savic briefed the Committee members on the e-service development projects and establishment of a working group tasked with drafting a law on information security.

The Committee members asked when the bill on information security would be sent to the National Assembly. They also had questions about the issuance of cadastre documents and the e-service development projects relating to insight into the tax duties in the purview of local self-governments.

The Committee members adopted the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Activity Report for the period 1 January – 31 March 2015, by majority vote.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milutin Mrkonjic.
