23rd Sitting of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy
At the sitting held on 30 May, the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy reviewed the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period October 2012 – March 2013.
Minister of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Prof. Dr Zorana Mihajlovic presented the Ministry’s most significant activities in the field of energy production.
In the course of the debate, the Committee members were mostly interested in how to address the citizens’ and economy’s outstanding bills and debts to the Electric Power Industry of Serbia and Serbiagas. The Committee members also had questions about the corporatization of the Electric Power Industry of Serbia so as to boost its efficiency. In the course of the debate, the participants also spoke about the use of renewable energy resources and the support the Ministry offers to local self-governments via environmental protection and renewable energy resource use projects. The Committee members were also informed about the date set to begin the construction of the South Stream.
Following the debate, the Committee adopted the Ministry of Energy, Development and Environmental Protection Activity Information for the period October 2012 – March 2013.
The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Dr Aleksandra Tomic.
