17th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending
At the sitting held on 25 September, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending reviewed the documents submitted to the National Assembly by the National Bank of Serbia and the Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia.
The Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Dr Jorgovanka Tabakovic provided the rationale for the Monetary Policy Semi-Annual Report; 2013 Monetary Policy Report with correction; 2013 Financial System Stability Report; 2013 National Bank of Serbia Business Transactions and Results Report; National Bank of Serbia 2013 financial reports accompanied by the authorised auditor’s report; Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Activity Report; National Bank of Serbia 2014 Monetary Policy Plan; National Bank of Serbia 2014 Financial Plan and the Decision amending the Decision on the National Bank of Serbia 2014 Financial Plan.
The Governor of the National Bank of Serbia stressed that the NBS had contributed to the macroeconomic stabilisation and that the financial system in Serbia is stable. Inter-annual inflation has been brought to a minimum with a solid economic growth of 2.5% and an increase in the NBS foreign reserves, said Tabakovic, adding that the NBS would continue to contribute to the implementation of the fiscal consolidation and structural reform measures.
Following a short debate the Committee members adopted the Monetary Policy Semi-Annual Report; 2013 Monetary Policy Report with correction; 2013 Financial System Stability Report; 2013 National Bank of Serbia Business Transactions and Results Report; National Bank of Serbia 2013 financial reports accompanied by the authorised auditor’s report; Council of the Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Activity Report; National Bank of Serbia 2014 Monetary Policy Plan; National Bank of Serbia 2014 Financial Plan and the Decision amending the Decision on the National Bank of Serbia 2014 Financial Plan.
