16th Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

At the sitting held on 10 February 2022, the members of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications reviewed the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications activity reports for the period 1 April 2021 – 30 June 2021; the period 1 July 2021 – 30 September 2021 and the period 1 October 2021 - 31 December 2021.


The Committee members discussed the Basis for Negotiating and Concluding the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the International Finance Corporation on Cooperation in Preparation of Public-Private Partnership Projects in the field of Infrastructure and the text of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the International Finance Corporation on Cooperation in Preparation of Public-Private Partnership Projects in the field of Infrastructure, for the purpose of granting consent for the provisional application of the Agreement pending its entry into force, submitted by the Government.

The reports were presented by Milan Dobrijevic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, who briefed the Committee members on the Ministry’s normative and other activities in said period. He said that the Ministry had intensified activities in the field of digital skills, especially in terms of child internet safety. He also spoke of the capital project "Connected Schools", which envisages a comprehensive improvement of the information and communication infrastructure in all primary and secondary schools in Serbia. He said that the Ministry has invested a lot of effort in signing agreements with many countries in the region concerning the recognition of vaccination certificates, which facilitated the movement of citizens and the operation of the tourism industry.

Representative of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Head of the Department for Postal Services and Supervision Marija Vucnic said that in the reporting period the Government had adopted the Strategy for the Development of Postal Services in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2021-2025, drafted by a working group consisting of representatives of the Ministry, RATEL, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and other relevant institutions.

Also, speaking of inspection supervision in the field of postal services, she said that about 1,000 inspections were conducted in the three quarters in question, regular, extraordinary, indirect and direct.

Following a brief discussion, the Committee members unanimously accepted the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications activity reports for the mentioned periods.

At the end of the sitting, the Committee unanimously adopted the Decision granting consent to the Government for the provisional application of the Basis for Negotiating and Concluding the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the International Finance Corporation on Cooperation in Preparation of Public-Private Partnership Projects in the field of Infrastructure, pending its entry into force.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Katarina Rakic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Bojan Torbica, Goran Pekarski, Dejan Kesar, Predrag Milosevic, Natasa Jovanovic, Andrijana Pupovac, Zoran Bojanic and Ivana Nikolic.
