14th Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction
At the sitting held on 11 February, the members of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction considered and adopted the Bill on the Confirmation of International Labour Organisation Convention No. 181 on Private Employment Agencies and the Bill on the Confirmation of International Labour Organisation Convention No. 150 on Labour Administration.
The sitting was attended by Zoran Martinovic, State Secretary and Dragana Radovanovic, department head at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy. Zoran Martinovic presented the Bills stressing that Serbia does have private employment agencies but that they can only act as mediators in the employment process and not actually employ.
As regards the interest shown for the topic of war veterans and their status, the Committee members unanimously decided to organise a public hearing on 21 March 2013 with the topic “Status of War Veterans in Serbia”.
In the continuation, the Committee Chairperson informed the members that she had sent a letter to the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Policy inviting him to attend a Committee sitting and forwarded the Information on the public hearing on “Law on Social Welfare – One Year of Implementation” to all the participants of the public hearing.
The sitting was chaired by Milica Dronjak, Committee Chairperson.
