13th Sitting of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending

At the sitting held on 23 October, the members of the Committee on Finance, State Budget and Control of Public Spending reviewed the nomination and formulated the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of the Director of the Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority and forwarded it to the National Assembly for ruling. The Authority Director is elected for a six-year term, and the Decision Proposal nominates Djordje Jevtic for the post.


The Committee went on to consider, in principle, the Bill on the Assumption of Assets and Liabilities of Certain Banks for the purpose of Maintaining the Stability of the Financial System of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Government. State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economy Vlajko Senic, representative of the submitter, stated that the Bill establishes the legal framework enabling the Serbian Government to act in situations threatening to disturb the stability of the financial system of the Republic of Serbia. Following a debate, the Committee adopted the Bill in principle, by a majority of votes.
At the sitting, the Committee also considered and adopted, in principle, the Bill Granting Guarantee by the Republic of Serbia in favour of OTP Bank Serbia a.d. Novi Sad, ''Volksbank'' a.d. Belgrade, Vojvodjanska banka a.d. Novi Sad, Societe Generale Bank Serbia a.d. Belgrade, UniCredit Bank Serbia a.d., Belgrade, Amsterdam Trade Bank Netherlands and Deutsche bank AG London against the debt of ''Srbijagas'' Public Enterprise Novi Sad, submitted by the Government.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Vesna Kovac.
