The sitting was attended by Dragi Vidojevic, State Secretary in charge of the pension and disability insurance system reform, Zoran Martinovic, State Secretary in charge of labour and employment, Brankica Jankovic, State Secretary in charge of social welfare and welfare of children and the elderly, Stana Bozovic, State Secretary in charge of gender equality and work safety, Negovan Stankovic, State Secretary in charge of ex-servicemen’s issues, as well as Radomir Ristanovic, Director of the Labour Inspectorate.
The Ministry representatives briefed the Committee members on the Activity Report spanning four months, as well as the scope of some of the sectors in the Ministry. The Ministry would continue to introduce active employment policy measures, promote a higher degree of social protection, as well as work on exercising the rights of veterans, children and families of disabled persons, they stressed while presenting the Report.
In the upcoming period the Ministry will mainly work on promoting safe houses and implementing the foster care placement project for children below three years of age.
In the ensuing discussion, the Committee members asked about the activities of the Social Welfare Chamber, how pensions for disabled former servicemen and military personnel were regulated, and about welfare for the elderly.
The Committee members went on to elect Milanka Jevtovic Vukojicic member of the Commission monitoring the Execution of the National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 - Women, Peace and Security in the Republic of Serbia (2010-2015).
