On 15 October 2025, the Security Services Control Committee held a sitting closed to the public, where it considered and adopted the Ministry of Defence Services Inspector General regular activity report, covering the period from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2025.
In the reporting period, the Ministry of Defence Services Inspector General carried out regular inspections in the directorates of both agencies, as well as in the centres of the Military Security Agency and the Military Intelligence Agency.
The Ministry of Defence Services Inspector General supervised the implementation of the principle of political, ideological and interest neutrality, the legality and regularity of the application of special procedures and measures for secret data gathering, as well as the application of special procedures in line with the Law on the Security Information Agency, as well as the legality of spending of budgetary and other operational funds for the work of the Military Security Agency and the Military Intelligence Agency.
In the supervision he conducted, the Inspector General, did not notice any illegalities or irregularities in the work of the agencies. The agencies respect the prescribed procedures and act at the appropriate level. Also, the budget funds were spent in accordance with the plans, in compliance with the regulations.
Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic emphasised the importance of the role played by the Inspector General in ensuring the efficiency, legality and transparency of the work of the agencies, and that the measures he proposes contribute to the further improvement of the security services.
The Committee welcomed the positive assessments of the legality and regularity of the work of the Ministry of Defence's security services, presented by the Ministry of Defence Services Inspector General, for the reporting period.
The Committee members noted that the previous practice of exceptionally good cooperation with the Inspector General has proven to be mutually beneficial, and that this cooperation will continue in the future.
