National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic Sends Telegram of Condolences on Death of Lavrentije, Bishop of Sabac
I was very saddened by the news that Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac, a great devotee to his people and his church, has left us. The Serbian Orthodox Church, all its believers and the entire nation have lost a wise leader and a man who spread peace and tolerance throughout his lifetime, no matter what he did. His mission of philanthropy, in which he was tireless and for which he was respected both in Serbia and in the world, will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Patriarch Porfirije, the Holy Synod and all the faithful on the departure of Bishop Lavrentije.

Ivica Dacic Congratulates Hanukkah
My most heartfelt congratulations to all the members of the Jewish community in Serbia on Hanukkah, the festival of lights and dedication, may they spend their holidays in peace and harmony, devotion to each other and everyone they live with. Hanukkah teaches not only Jews, but everyone else how important it is to fight, without fear, for what is right. It reminds us how important it is to preserve tradition as a guide to peaceful and harmonious life in the community, as well as to stand together to oppose anyone who would cast a stone at these eternal values. May the menorah illuminate your homes with the light of peace, prosperity and togetherness.
