At the twenty-third sitting, held on 15 June 2010, the Education Committee considered the particulars of the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Higher Education, submitted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Zoran Sami, and attended by Dr Zarko Obradovic, Minister of Education, representative of the submitter of the Bill.

The deputies submitted a total of 82 amendments to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Higher Education. The Government and the Committee accepted 16 of the amendments. By a majority of votes, the Committee also proposed that the National Assembly accept the amendments to articles 11 and 18. In addition, the Committee members decided, by a majority of votes, to submit amendments to articles 11, 16 and 24 of the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Higher Education. The representative of the submitter at the Committee sitting accepted the Committee’s amendments.

Committee Chairman Dr Zoran Sami was appointed the Committee’s rapporteur to the National Assembly sitting.
