The Committee on Kosovo-Metohija held a sitting which started on 11 April in Belgrade, and was continued on 18 April in the Kosovska Mitrovica Rectory building.

The Committee on Kosovo-Metohija held a sitting which started on 11 April in Belgrade, and was continued on 18 April in the Kosovska Mitrovica Rectory building. The item on its agenda was petition no. 10 07 505/11, submitted to the Committee on 1 February 2011 by the professors of the University of Pristina Faculty of Technical Sciences in Kosovska Mitrovica.

Having considered the petition, the Committee unanimously concluded to, in view of the current socio-political situation, invite all the professors of the University of Pristina with the headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica to stand united and firm in their attitude to the state and the students themselves.

The professors of the University of Pristina with the headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica are the intellectual elite of the Serbian people in Kosovo-Metohija, so we invite them as such to do all in their power to strengthen the University’s position both in the education system of the Republic of Serbia and among the citizens who see in the University the basis of the statehood and existence of the Republic of Serbia in Kosovo-Metohija.

The Committee on Kosovo-Metohija believes that the competent state authorities should, in line with their competences, check all the allegations and ascertain the legality and accuracy of the allegations as soon as possible, so as to ascertain the truth about all the suspicions and accusations.

In view of this, the Committee on Kosovo-Metohija expects the competent state authorities to inform it on their results and discoveries regarding the submitted conclusion as soon as possible.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Ljubomir Kragovic.
