Twentieth Sitting of the Gender Equality Committee

At its twentieth sitting, held on 2 March, the Gender Equality Committee considered the Committee’s 2009 Activity Report.



At its twentieth sitting, held on 2 March, the Gender Equality Committee considered the Committee’s 2009 Activity Report. On the occasion, it was deemed that at the 15 sittings it held, the Committee discussed numerous significant issues from its purview and played a particularly important role in the adoption of the Anti-Discrimination Law and Gender Equality Law.

At the sitting, the Committee also discussed the Gender Equality Committee’s 2010 Activity Plan and concluded to invite representatives of the Gender Equality Directorate to the next sitting in order to harmonise the activities planned for this year. The Committee members agreed with the estimate that their activities should focus on the control of the executive government, the part dealing with ensuring the conditions conducive to the improvement of gender equality.

The sitting was chaired by Gordana Paunovic-Milosavljevic, Committee Chairperson.
