At its third sitting held on 31 October, the Committee on Petitions and Proposals discussed the Report of the Interdepartmental Working group formed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, on the measures undertaken and the factual conditions dealing with the issue of payment of war salaries to the participants of the 1999 war, Report of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia on the protest of mobilised military reservemen and Information on the talk of the Committee on Petitions and Proposals members with the delegation of the Committee on Petitions of the German Bundestag, conducted on 16 October 2007.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman Dragan Colic.

Milica Vlasic-Koturovic from the Ministry of Justice and member of the Interdepartmental Working group formed by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, presented the Report on the measures undertaken and the factual conditions dealing with the issue of payment of war salaries to the participants of the 1999 war.

Having conducted the discussion, the Committee members decided to forward a request to the Supreme Court of Serbia for maximum expediency in the cases led before the legal organs pertaining to the payment of the war salaries; that the Ministry of Justice examine the responsibility of the bearers of judicial functions in the case of the payment of the war salaries and that the Committee on Petitions and Proposals supports the reservemen’s justified claims.

Subsequently, Committee Vice-Chairman, Slobodan Adzic briefed the Committee members on the Information on the talk of the Committee on Petitions and Proposals members with the delegation of the Committee on Petitions of the German Bundestag, conducted on 16 October 2007.
