Today at the National Assembly House, Suzana Grubjesic, head of the National Assembly’s standing delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, received OSCE PA Special Representative for South-East Europe Roberto Battelli, OSCE PA Rapporteur of the Third Committee Matteo Mecacci and Ambassador Andreas Nothelle.

Rapporteur Battelli stressed that stability in South-East Europe is one of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s priorities which is why it closely follows the developments in the region. Since visiting the region and gaining direct insight into the development of domestic relations is part of OSCE PA’s regular activities, the delegation will this time visit Pristina and Skopje, in addition to Belgrade. This visit is aimed at gaining direct insight into the situation in Kosovo-Metohija and OSCE PA intends to endorse and contribute to the stabilisation and normalisation of relations among the ethnic communities in Kosovo-Metohija, within its competencies and potentials and in line with European values, said the OSCE PA Rapporteur for South-East Europe Roberto Battelli.

Head of the National Assembly’s delegation to the OSCE PA Suzana Grubjesic emphasised the difficult position of the Serbian and other non-Albanian population in Kosovo-Metohija and the important role the international community plays in creating conditions conducive to the return of displaced persons and their property. She also said that Serbia supports OSCE PA’s efforts on establishing a normal life for all the citizens in the province.
