On Tuesday 12 April, members of the European Integrations Committee hosted students of the Belgrade Open School.
On Tuesday 12 April, members of the European Integrations Committee hosted students of the Belgrade Open School. The students were welcomed by the Chairman of the National Assembly, Predrag Markovic.
The chairperson of the Committee, Ksenija Milivojevic, acquainted the students with the powers and activities of the Committee. Her address centred on the Resolution on Joining the European Union, adopted by the Serbian parliament, and the project of building national consensus on Serbia’s European future.
Students were especially interested in steps that are to be taken in the near future, since Serbia and Montenegro was awarded a positive assessment of the Feasibility Study for negotiating a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU. Numerous questions relating to co-operation between the European Integrations Committee with the Office of EU integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and other international organisations were answered by deputies and Committee members, Gordana Comic, Miodrag Stamenkovic and Vojkan Tomic.
The students went on to make a tour of part of the building and observe the session of the National Assembly from the visitors’ gallery.
