The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Ion Macovei, Romanian Ambassador to Serbia.

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received Ion Macovei, Romanian Ambassador to Serbia.

Ambassador Macovei congratulated Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic on her election as Speaker of the National Assembly, personally and on the behalf of the Romanian Parliament, wishing her success in her work.

The Romanian Ambassador expressed his belief that Serbia and its new state organs will continue the process of approaching European integrations, in which it has Romania’s full support. He particularly stressed that his country remains consistent in its position of not acknowledging the independence of Kosovo and Metohia.

Both jointly deemed that the traditionally friendly and good-neighbourly relations of the two countries are a good basis for furthering, most of all, economic cooperation and the joint appearance of Romania and Serbia on the foreign market.
