On the occasion of the self-styled declaration of independence of Kosovo and Metohia, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Oliver Dulic appealed to all Serbian citizens and political subjects in the country to preserve peace and not to react to provocation.

“I appeal to everyone in Serbia to keep civil peace and not to provoke by their actions any possible problems for our citizens in Kosovo and Metohia. I expect that all institutions and political subjects show great solidarity and rationality at this difficult time”, Dulic said.

The Speaker of the National Assembly believes that the decision of the provisional institutions of Kosovo and Metohia on a unilateral declaration of independence is an act that deeply opposes Serbian and international law.

“It is my hope that we shall stand united at this difficult time and help those who most need our help, namely our people in Kosovo and Metohia and all citizens who recognize Serbia as their country”, Dulic concluded.
