Solemn Academy on Students’ Day

Once again, the National Assembly hosted a solemn academy, organized by the Student Conference of Academies of Applied Studies and Colleges of Serbia, to celebrate Students’ Day.


National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic told the students that the Parliament and Government’s goal is to establish the legislative framework and economic environment needed to prevent the “brain drain” and keep young, qualified people In Serbia.

“Young people are the future of the country, especially the ones attending vocational studies as they will be the carriers of the country’s economic growth”, said Marinkovic. He added that the country is striving to create a better environment for everyone with an idea or initiative to start their own business. Marinkovic told the students and their professors that the National Assembly is open to any type cooperation that would advance the quality of education and the position of the students.

The attending were also addressed by Viktor Nedovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, who said that the Government would continue to work on improving the quality of studies and student standards through student credits and by improving the quality of student housing. He also spoke about the Draft Law on Student Organization and the Draft Law on Dual Studies.

The president of the Student Conference of Academies of Applied Studies and Colleges Milutin Markovic and the president of the Conference of Academies of Applied Studies and Colleges Branko Savic also spoke at the academy.
