So-Called “Kosovo’s” Request Removed from PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy’s Agenda

The Serbian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) achieved a significant diplomatic result – the request of so-called “Kosovo” to be granted the status of special guest was removed from the agenda of the PACE Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy with a vote of 21 to 10.

At the meeting held on 5 March 2025 in Paris, the delegation headed by Biljana Pantic Pilja and including Dunja Simonovic Bratic, Aleksandar Mirkovic, Elvira Kovacs and Vladimir Djordjevic, worked determinedly on the protection of Serbia’s state and national interests.

Before the vote, Head of the delegation Biljana Pantic Pilja delivered firm arguments against considering the request which resulted in a clear majority of 21 votes in favour of removing the item from the agenda with 10 votes against.

This outcome is a significant feat of success for Serbia’s parliamentary diplomacy. The Serbian delegation remains committed to protecting the country’s interests in all future processes in the Council of Europe.
