Sixth Sitting of the Gender Equality Committee
The Gender Equality Committee held its sixth sitting on 10 March. The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairperson, Gordana Paunovic-Milosavljevic.

The Committee members adopted the Activity Plan of the Gender Equality Committee. The Activity Plan states that the Committee will focus on the following issues: education and professional training of women, specific problems of women regarding health protection, position of women on the job market, violence against women, prostitution and trafficking in human beings, coordinating family and professional life without discrimination of any kind, legal regulations concerning protection of mothers on maternity leave and single mothers, responsibility and inclusion of men in achieving gender equality, as well as implementation of measures and activities if men are discriminated against.
The Committee went on to adopt, by a majority of votes, the Decision condemning deputy Tomislav Nikolic’s inappropriate remark addressed to deputy Gordana Pop-Lazic at the National Assembly session on 13 February 2009.
