Sixth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2012

At the request of 128 MPs, National Assembly Speaker MA Nebojsa Stefanovic convened the Sixth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2012, for Monday, 6 August 2012, starting at 10 am.


The request to hold the session specified an agenda bearing one item:

1. Proposal for the Election of Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, submitted by the President of the Republic.

At the beginning of the session, based on the report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the termination the term of office of MP Aleksandar Vulin, before the expiry of the term he was elected for.

The National Assembly discussed the Proposal for the Election of Governor of the National Bank of Serbia, which the heads i.e. authorised representatives of the parliamentary groups talked about in the continuation, followed by other MPs who took part in the debate.

In the course of the proceedings, the National Assembly verified the term of office of newly-elected MP Dragan Todorovic from the LET’S GET SERBIA MOVING – TOMISLAV NIKOLIC Electoral List, who subsequently took the oath of office.

As the National Assembly had concluded the debate on the item on the agenda, the National Assembly Speaker set Monday, 6 August 2012, as Voting Day on the only item on the agenda for the Sixth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2012, starting at 4:45 pm.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 6 August, the National Assembly adopted the Proposal for the Election of Governor of the National Bank of Serbia and by a majority of 113 MPs’ votes elected Dr Jorgovanka Tabakovic to the post.

As the National Assembly had completed the discussion and ruling on the only item on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker MA Nebojsa Stefanovic concluded the Sixth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2012.
