Seventieth Sitting of the Committee on Science and Technological Development

At the sitting held on 9 February, the Committee on Science and Technological Development considered the Information on the activities of the Ministry of Education and Science in the period October – December 2011.


Minister of Education and Science Prof. Dr Zarko Obradovic said that in the stated period the Ministry implemented all the activities it had planned, adding that the Government’s Conclusion to sign the Contract on the Republic of Serbia joining the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) was particularly important for the sphere of science. Intense international cooperation in the area of scientific research was also continued, said Minister Obradovic.

The Ministry continued its work on the drafting of the Rulebook on procedure and manner of evaluation and quantitative expression of scientific research results, and implemented activities on the realisation of project “Competition for the best technological innovation in Serbia for 2011”.

The Law amending and modifying the Law on Copyright and Related Rights and the Law on Patents were adopted in said period, added Minister Obradovic.

In the continuation, the Committee members were briefed on the implementation of the Law on Copyright and Related Rights, work of the internal control and audits at the Ministry, and talked about the importance of investing into science for the development of the state, as well as the need to adapt the education system to market needs.

Following the debate, the members of the Committee on Science and Technological Development unanimously adopted the Information on the activities of the Ministry of Education and Science in the period October – December 2011.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Srboljub Zivanovic.
