Seventh Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee

At the sitting held on 18 November, the Environmental Protection Committee discussed and adopted the Bill on Protection and Sustainable Use of the Fish Stock, in principle.


The Bill was elaborated by Assistant Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Slobodan Erdeljan.
The Committee also discussed and adopted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Second Amendment to the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). The Bill was elaborated by the Director of the Republic Hydrometeorological Service, Jugoslav Nikolic.
In the continuation, Committee Chairman Dr Branislav Blazic informed the Committee members that he would be submitting to the National Assembly a proposal to set up a Board of Inquiry to ascertain the facts relating to the use of the Environmental Protection Fund.
The Committee decided to organise its second public hearing, on industrial waste management in the Republic of Serbia, on 1 December 2014.
Representatives of the Young Researchers of Serbia and the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence took part in the sitting via the Green Chair mechanism.
Valentina Djureta, representative of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, invited the Committee members to take part in the work of the informal Green Parliamentary Group, currently being set up.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Branislav Blazic.
