The Committee members also ruled on launching the procedure for the nomination of candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the authorised nominator associations dealing with freedom of expression and the protection of children, by mutual agreement.

Committee Chairperson Maja Gojkovic reminded the Committee members that, on 19 October, the authorised nominator associations dealing with freedom of expression and the protection of children had been informed by memo that the National Assembly had, at the Second Sitting of the Second Regular Session in 2016, on 11 October, debated the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media as item 1 on its agenda, but upon voting on it, none of the candidates nominated by the abovementioned authorised nominator had been elected.

Following a debate on the second item on the agenda, the Committee members, by majority vote, adopted the Decision on launching the procedure for the nomination of candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the authorised nominator associations dealing with freedom of expression and the protection of children, by mutual agreement.

The Committee Chairperson said that the competent service of the National Assembly would publish a public call for the nomination of candidates for the election of member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia, Politika daily and on the National Assembly website, after which the authorised nominators would have 15 days to submit  elaborated proposals of two candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media to the competent service.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Maja Gojkovic and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Ana Stevanovic, Aleksandra Cabraja, MA Jadranka Jovanovic, Srbislav Filipovic, Natasa Micic, Natasa Mihajlovic Vacic, Marko Krlic, Djordje Vukadinovic, Snezana Paunovic, Stanija Kompirovic and Vesna Marjanovic.
