Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2012

At the request of 93 MPs, National Assembly Speaker MA Nebojsa Stefanovic convened the Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2012, for Wednesday, 29 August 2012, starting at 10 am.


The request to hold the session specifies the following agenda:

  1. Bill amending the Law on Public Notaries, submitted by a group of 61 MPs and
  2. Bill modifying the Law on Extra-Judicial Procedure, submitted by a group of 61 MPs.

Before moving on to the agenda, based on the Report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the termination of the term of office of MP Jorgovanka Tabakovic, before the expiry of the term she was elected for, on the day she assumed a function incompatible with the function of MP.

By a majority of votes, the National Assembly accepted the proposal of MP Vladimir Cvijan to complete a joint debate in principle on all the items on the agenda.


On the second day of work, 31 August, the National Assembly continued the session with a debate on the amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Public Notaries and the Bill modifying the Law on Extra-Judicial Procedure.

Based on the Decision of the Republic Electoral Commission on the allocation of MPs’ terms of office for the purpose of filling vacant seats at the National Assembly and the Report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the verification of the terms of office of MPs Tanja Radovanovic and Radovan Raicevic elected from the LET’S GET SERBIA MOVING – TOMISLAV NIKOLIC Electoral List and MP Jozef Sandor elected from the UNITED REGIONS OF SERBIA – MLADJAN DINKIC Electoral List, who, having their terms of office verified, took the oath of office.

In the course of the proceedings, based on Report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the termination of the term of office of MP Vladan Vasic, before the expiry of the term he was elected for.

By the end of the day the National Assembly had completed the debate in detail on the Bill amending the Law on Public Notaries and the Bill modifying the Law on Extra-Judicial Procedure.

As the National Assembly had concluded a debate in principle and in detail on all the items on the agenda for the Seventh Extraordinary Session, the Chair, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Vesna Kovac, set Friday, 31 August 2012, as Voting Day on the items on the agenda for the Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2012, starting at 4 pm.

Voting Day

Based on the Decision of the Republic Electoral Commission on the allocation of MPs’ terms of office for the purpose of filling vacant seats at the National Assembly and the Report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the verification of the term of office of MP Jelena Travar-Miljevic elected from the UNITED REGIONS OF SERBIA – MLADJAN DINKIC Electoral List, who took the oath of office once her term of office was verified.

On Voting Day, 31 August, the National Assembly adopted the Bill amending the Law on Public Notaries and the Bill modifying the Law on Extra-Judicial Procedure, by a majority of votes.

As the National Assembly had completed the discussion on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Vesna Kovac concluded the Seventh Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly in 2012.

MP Vladimir Cvijan, representative of the submitters, explained the Bills to the MPs.

In the course of the session, based on the Report of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly noted the termination of the terms of office, before the expiry of the term they were elected for, of MPs Bratislav Gasic and Vidoje Petrovic.

By the end of the day the National Assembly had completed the debate in principle on the Bills amending the Law on Public Notaries and modifying the Law on Extra-Judicial Procedure.
