Serbian and Ukrainian Parliaments Sign Cooperation Agreement

Yesterday in Kiev, the Speakers of the Serbian and Ukrainian parliaments signed an interparliamentary cooperation agreement.



Yesterday in Kiev, the Speakers of the Serbian and Ukrainian parliaments signed an interparliamentary cooperation agreement.

The agreement states that “The sides will develop interparliamentary cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and Ukraine, contribute to the further development of relations between the two nations in the political, socio-economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres in the both sides’ interest. Aiming to implement the coordination of parliamentary activity in a common arena, both sides will hold consultations, offer mutual support and assistance when considering issues of mutual interests in the inter-parliamentary departments of international organisations and the Inter-Parliamentary Union”.

The Agreement, declared a step forward in the improvement of bilateral relations between Serbia and Ukraine by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic, and the Speaker of the Ukrainian Supreme Rada Vladimir Mikhailovich Lytvyn, also envisages that both sides shall contribute to the establishment of lasting relations between the two countries’ committees and commissions, deputy groups, legislative authorities, that they shall exchange parliamentary delegations in order to examine the practice of elaboration and adoption of legislative documents and parliamentary experiences.
