Serbian Peace Run Torch Symbolically Handed to National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic
The torch of Peace Run Serbia, part of the longest foot race in the world, supported by the National Assembly, was symbolically handed to National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic with the message: “When we can run together in peace and harmony, then we can also live together in peace and friendship”.
National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic addressed the participants of the run, representatives of sports organizations, municipalities, the diplomatic corps and media at the gathering in the National Assembly House, saying it was a great honour to welcome them on the behalf of National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic, take over the Torch of Peace and pass it on as it makes its way through Europe. “I believe that our region, our country and the world at large never needed more the message of peace you are carrying symbolized in the torch.” The torch will travel through all the European countries to finally reach Lisbon in October.
The attending were also addressed by the president of Peace Run Europe Devashishu Torpy and president of the Peace Run Serbia Predrag Knezevic.
