Serbian Parliamentary Energy Policy Forum

The Serbian Parliamentary Energy Policy Forum will be established on Monday, 29 June, at the National Assembly House, at the initiative of international and national organisations, modelled after the European Forum for Renewable Energy Sources (EUFORES) and the European Energy Forum, two informal groups at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The Serbian Parliamentary Energy Policy Forum will be organising events for the key players in the energy sector to exchange information and air their views on all energy matters.

“In the course of the many activities I have undertaken as the Chairperson of the Committee on the Economy, Regional Development, Trade, Tourism and Energy in the last several years I have perceived a growing demand for a coordinated energy policy at the local level, the level of the Republic of Serbia, the region and the level of the European Union. Energy matters need to be raised to a higher level of debate at the National Assembly and take a more significant place in the public eye so that the Serbian citizens could be adequately informed about them”, said Dr Aleksandra Tomic, future Chairperson of the Forum.

The establishment of the forum will be followed by a press conference at the Central Hall of the National Assembly, to be attended by the MPs, representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, foreign ambassadors in Belgrade, representatives of international and national institutions and organisations, public enterprises, civil society organisations and the media.
