Serbian Assembly delegation visits National Democratic Institute in Washington

Speaking to a group of forty representatives of national and international political and non-governmental organisations at a forum organised at the National Democratic Institute for International Relations, the Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia stressed the results achieved by the people and the new leadership in creating normal life in Serbia.


Speaking to a group of forty representatives of national and international political and non-governmental organisations at a forum organised at the National Democratic Institute for International Relations, the Deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia stressed the results achieved by the people and the new leadership in creating normal life in Serbia.

The participants at the forum organised by the NDI congratulated the people of Serbia and the officials for their determination to create democratic institutions.

The delegation will remain in Washington until 9 May 2003, and will meet officials of the State Department, President Bush’s administration and key representatives of the US Congress. The Deputies are aiming to ensure the continuation of financial support and to improve ties with the United States, in order to increase the volume of foreign investment, which will lead to new jobs and a stronger economy.

The delegation is made up of Gordana Comic, Vice-president of the Serbian Assembly, Mr Bojan Pajtic, chairman of the DOS “Reform of Serbia” Deputies’ Group, Mr Vlatko Sekulovic, vice-chairman of the Committee on Development and Foreign Economic Relations, and Mr Miroslav Filipovic, Deputy to the Assembly of Serbia and Montenegro.
