Serbian Assembly Speaker Congratulates Easter

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic congratulated Easter to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije, the clergy and monks, as well as all Orthodox believers who celebrate the holiday according to the Julian calendar.

"On behalf of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and on my own behalf, I wish You, the clergy, monks and all believers happy Easter, the Day of the Resurrection of the Son of God.

Once again, the world welcomes the greatest Christian holiday faced with numerous challenges and trials: that is why, determined to preserve our unity and peace, we share a common wish – that our prayers for well-being and good be heard and answered, that Easter fill us with hope and faith and remind us of the importance of preserving unity and love among people.

Finding strength in the lasting values of Orthodoxy, we are sure to, as always, continue to be wise, responsible, as well as determined: to continue to build Serbia on the firm foundations we have set, to the well-being of all of our citizens and the entire Serbian people.
