At the seminar, the participants were informed about current topics within the Committee’s scope, activities and possible forms of cooperation with relevant ministries and independent state bodies, as well as discussed issues in the Committee’s scope of activity such as: international standards and mechanisms for the protection of human and minority rights and gender equality, the role of the Committee in the system for monitoring the implementation of United Nations recommendations and support for the control function of the National Assembly in order to strengthen measures in the fight against violence against women.

The participants were addressed by the Ombudsman, representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade, Union University School of Law, Platform of Organizations for Cooperation with United Nations Human Rights Mechanisms, FemPlatz, as well as experts.
