Security Services Control Committee in Supervisory Visit to Military Security Agency Headquarters
In line with its 2016 Activity Plan, the Security Services Control Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia conducted a supervisory visit to the Military Security Agency Headquarters in Belgrade on 23 November 2016.
The delegation conducting the supervisory visit was headed by Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic, and comprised Committee members Marija Obradovic and Sasa Radulovic, as well as Committee deputy members: Zeljko Susec, Zvonimir Djokic, Prof. Dr Zoran Dragisic, Vladan Zagradjanin and Jasmina Obradovic.
The Committee delegation reviewed the suitability of the organisation/formation structure of the Military Security Agency for the security challenges, risks and threats the Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces and the security system as a whole are exposed to and inspected the legality of operation of the Military Security Agency.
In the course of the supervisory visit the members of the Committee delegation inspected the implementation of special procedures and measures set out in the Law on the Military Security Agency and Military Intelligence Agency, as well as the implementation of special evidentiary actions set out in the Criminal Procedure Code. The Committee delegation was also allowed direct insight into documentation relating to cases processed in the period 2015 and 2016 and found that the members of the Military Security Agency acted professionally, in line with the legally prescribed procedures and that there are no irregularities.
The supervisory visit to the Military Security Agency Headquarters begins the cycle of planned supervisory visits to security services’ headquarters and area units to be realised by the end of 2016.
