Second Sitting of the Subcommittee on Youth and Sports

At the sitting held on 10 June 2021, the members of Subcommittee on Youth and Sports considered the proposal of Subcommittee activities concerning youth policy.

At the beginning of the sitting, Subcommittee Chairman Goran Spasojevic said that the goal of today's meeting was to agree and launch an initiative to visit youth offices throughout Serbia, talk to office representatives and take part in the drafting of the youth policy development strategy being prepared by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The Subcommittee Chairman added that it is necessary to form a delegation to go into the field and talk to the representatives of the offices.

MP Nikola Lazic said that the youth offices in Serbia have to be more involved in the field of youth policy and that there are various challenges, from the lack of cooperation with the education sector, raising young people's interest in the informal activities on offer by the offices and more.

Following a discussion, the Subcommittee members voted to send the initiative for the formation of a delegation that will deal with youth and sports issues in the field to the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society.
