Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2024

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabic convened the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2024, for Friday, 10 May 2024, starting at 2 pm.

The following agenda was proposed for the sitting:

  1. Bill modifying the Law on the Single Electoral Roll, submitted by 37 MPs;

  2. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Dragan Markovic Palma - United Serbia Parliamentary Group;

  3. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the ALEKSANDAR VUCIC – Serbia Must Not Stop Parliamentary Group;

  4. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Composition of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker;

  5. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Composition of the Standing Delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to International Parliamentary Institutions, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker.
At the proposal of National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic, the National Assembly accepted to complete a joint debate in principle and single debate on all the items on the agenda.

The National Assembly also accepted the proposal of National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic to complete a debate in detail on the Bill modifying the Law on the Single Electoral Roll immediately after the completion of the debate in principle.

At the proposal of the of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues, the National Assembly proceeded to note the termination of the term of office, before the expiry of the term she was elected, of MP Sandra Bozic, on the day she tendered her resignation.

MP Prof. Dr Aleksandra Pavlovic Markovic, elected from the Electoral List IVICA DACIC – PRIME MINISTER OF SERBIA, whose term of office was verified on 1 May 2024, took the oath of office.

The National Assembly then commenced the joint debate in principle and single debate on all the items on the agenda. The Bill modifying the Law on the Single Electoral Roll was presented by MP Dr Zoran Lutovac as representative of the submitters.

The National Assembly conducted and completed the joint debate in principle and single debate on all the items on the agenda and also completed the debate in detail on the Bill modifying the Law on the Single Electoral Roll.

As the National Assembly completed the debate on all the items on the agenda, National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic set Friday, 10 May 2024, as Voting Day on all the items on the agenda of the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2024, starting at 6.30 pm.

Voting Day

On Voting Day, 10 May 2024, the National Assembly adopted, by majority vote, the following:

  1. Bill modifying the Law on the Single Electoral Roll, submitted by 37 MPs;
  2. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the Dragan Markovic Palma - United Serbia Parliamentary Group;
  3. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Election of Members and Deputy Members of the Committees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, submitted by the ALEKSANDAR VUCIC – Serbia Must Not Stop Parliamentary Group;
  4. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Composition of the Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker;
  5. Proposal of the Decision amending the Decision on the Composition of the Standing Delegations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia to International Parliamentary Institutions, submitted by the National Assembly Speaker.
On Voting Day, the National Assembly also ruled on the violations of the Rules of Procedure the MPs complained of in the course of the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2024 and found that none of the provisions of the Rules of Procedure had been violated.

As the National Assembly had completed the debate on all the items on the agenda and ruled on them, National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic concluded the Second Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2024.
