Second Sitting of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee

At its second sitting, held on 16 November, the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee considered the Ministry of the Interior Activity Information for the period July – September 2020.


The Activity Information was presented by Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin. The Minister said that the Ministry of the Interior had shown itself capable to deal with all of the challenges it was faced with. Compared to the same period last year, crime had gone down and there have been two successful resolutions of murders in criminogenic structures, however illegal migrations are still one of the state’s burning problems. Minister Vulin said that there had been a marked rise in breaches of public peace and quiet in the period July – September, due to the demonstrations held in said period.

The sitting was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior Bojan Jocic, Police Chief Vladimir Rebic and the acting secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Zoran Lazic.

Following a brief discussion, the Committee members unanimously adopted the Ministry of the Interior Activity Information for the period July – September 2020.

Under item any other business, the Committee reviewed the proposal of Predrag Simonovic regarding the operation and internal control conducted by the Ministry of the Interior Internal Control Sector.

Markovic i Aleksandar Mirkovic.
