The Eighth Meeting of the SEECP PD Working Group, second in the course of the Macedonian chairmanship, gathered the members of the Working Group, MPs and national coordinators who discussed the process of institutionalization and establishment of the structure of the future Parliamentary Assembly in the SEE region.
The agenda focused on the two models for the Parliamentary Assembly’s Secretariat prepared by the Regional Secretariat for Parliamentary Cooperation in Sofia, with the suggestions and comments of the Bulgarian and Turkish parliaments. In the second part of the meeting the Working Group members shared their opinions on the draft Rules of Procedure of the Parliamentary Assembly prepared under the Macedonian chairmanship, as well as views on the consolidated compromise proposal prepared by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in the course of its chairmanship of the SEECP PD, from June 2011 – June 2012.
SEECP Parliamentary Dimension member states are expected to make the decision on the future Parliamentary Assembly by the end of the Macedonian chairmanship, at the Parliament Speakers’ Conference, scheduled for 27 and 28 May 2013 in Ohrid.
